How to Pay SBI Credit Card Bill Payment Online & Offline

Credit cards have become a very useful tool for people to complete their daily transactions like paying utility bills, paying mobile bills, buying groceries etc. Gone are the days when credit cards were only used for buying airline tickets or similar large transactions. People now days have understood how credit cards can be used to move credit and thus many have multiple cards from various banks to avail the benefits provided by each card issuer.

SBI bank offers some of the best credit cards in the industry. They have customized credit cards which cater to various people for their varied needs be it shopping, travel, restaurant as well as corporate cards. SBI cards have varying rewards and benefits for each card while some cards give amazing amount of cashback for various transactions while some cards give reward points which can be used later to redeem to get a great offer from SBI.

SBI also provides many modes to maintain and payment option of your credit card which the customer can choose according to their convenience.

The two main options are classified as online and offline mode of payment which are further classified into multiple features that a customer can use to pay off their credit card dues.

SBI credit card payment – Online mode

With the world going digital many people prefer paying their bills through online mediums. SBI has also understood this trend and setup multiple ways that a person can pay their credit card bills.

SBI Bank Net Banking:

To utilize the SBI Net Banking facility, SBI bank’s savings and current account holders must register for this service. Only after registration, online payments can be done by customers. Customers can also link their SBI Bank credit cards to Net Banking account, after logging into their SBI Net Banking account. The ATM pin needs to be used to link the SBI Bank credit card to the Net Banking account.

Customers can access or view their SBI bank credit card information, credit card statements and unbilled transactions through the net banking facility for up to six months. All the Net Banking account will detail the billed/unbilled transactions, credit limit, due dates, reward points earned and outstanding dues. In case of loss or theft of credit cards customers can use the Hot listing facility available under the Net Banking facility to block you card and request for card replacements for which SBI will charge a fee of Rs. 100.

To pay your credit card dues log in to the net banking facility through the bank website and go into the credit card tab and select the “Credit Card Payment Option”. Pay your bills using your SBI bank savings account.

SBI Bank Mobile Banking Application:

SBI Bank credit card users can also use the SBI Bank Mobile Banking application to make outstanding bill payments. Customers need to download the app on their mobiles and after installation use their customer ID to log into the app. It has all the features that are present in the Net banking portal. To pay of the credit card dues the user needs to go into the credit card tab and select the “Credit Card Payment Option”. With highly enhanced security for credit card accounts using 128-bit SSL protection a user can pay or transact for anything from anywhere accessing their savings account using the Mobile app.

ATM Funds Transfer:

With large network of ATMs available across the country SBI customers can pay credit card bills through any one of these ATMs. This service is 24/7 made available to SBI bank customers. The outstanding amount available on a SBI Bank credit card can be transferred from a savings account or a current account to the customer’s credit card account.

Autopay:

If you are worried that you might forget to pay your credit card bills, which is a very big problem for people with multiple credit cards then as a SBI bank customer you can pay your outstanding credit card bills using the Autopay option to set standing instructions for auto debits on their SBI Bank accounts.

The total monthly outstanding amount or the minimum amount due on the SBI Bank credit card can be repaid using the Autopay facility. The SBI Bank savings account should be held by a single customer or as a joint account, with an ‘either’ or 'any' signing mandate.

SBI credit card payment – Online mode for non-SBI Account

You do not necessarily open an SBI Bank account to have an SBI credit card, you can also pay your credit card bill using a non-SBI Bank account. There are several ways that a person with a SBI credit card can pay their credit card bills through online transactions using other bank accounts. This convenient way of paying your SBI Bank credit card bill through other banks works for SBI as well as other banks.

Paynet-Pay Online

Paynet-Pay is a special payment option from State Bank of India. Under this, users need to visit www.sbicard.com and login using their SBI Card online user ID and password. You can pay your credit card bills to by choosing to pay using debit card or internet banking choosing the bank you have account. It takes 2 working days for processing.

National Electronic Funds Transfer (NEFT)

You can pay your SBI Bank credit card bill from any other bank account by using the NEFT facility. The instructions may vary slightly in different banks, but, in most cases you need to add your credit card number as the payee account number to make the payment through NEFT. Any payments made during the working hours on a weekday are credited on the same day while the payments made after working hours are credited on the next business day. To pay your bills use the IFSC code, to make NEFT payments towards your SBI Bank credit cards.

Real Time Gross Settlement (RTGS)

For people who like to use their credit cards for large transactions, you can pay your credit card bills in one go using the RGTS mode even if they do not hold an SBI Bank account. All you need to have is your net banking activated on your non-SBI Bank account to carry out an RTGS transaction. Through RGTS, you can make payments for Rs. 2 lakhs and more. Any RTGS transactions are executed individually unlike NEFT which are processed in batches.

SBI Bank Website

Non-SBI bank account holders can use the Bill Desk web page which is set up for SBI credit card holders. Fill out the required details which also includes the credit card number and payment amount. The customers are then directed to the SBI bank’s net banking portal to complete the credit card bill payment. The customers will receive an online transaction confirmation as well as a Transaction Reference Number after a successful transaction. Your Non-SBI Bank’s Website

In case you don’t have a SBI bank account you can pay your credit card bills by logging into your bank’s online payment portal using your unique net banking id and password and transfer the due amount. The process is very simple and consists of many more options including NEFT and RTGS. The bill payment will take 2 working days to be credited to your SBI bank account.

SBI credit card payment – Offline payment mode

There are many people who still consider paying their bills the traditional way. This could be due to two reasons – either they are not comfortable with the online methods or they don’t have access to the online payment modes. Either way they prefer to pay their bills offline. For such people SBI provides multiple ways by which any individual can pay their credit card dues.

Cash payment

You can pay your credit card bills by paying in cash at any one of the SBI bank branches nearest to you in your city. A processing fees of Rs. 100 per payment will be charged by the bank when you pay your credit card bill.

Cheque payment

If you prefer to pay you’re your credit card bills using cheques then you can do so in the same way as you would pay your credit card bills by paying cash. You can also drop of the cheques mentioning your credit card number and other required details at SBI bank ATMs where there are drop boxes for this purpose. The payment will get cleared within 3 working days.

SBI Credit Card Bill Payment FAQ

1. What to do when a payment has been made but has not shown up on the SBI credit card or the card’s online account statement?

In this case, you have to notify the bank that the SBI credit card bill payment has not been posted to your account. You need to prepare the documents showing that you have made the payment. You can show the copy of a cancelled cheque or electronic payment as a proof of payment. In addition, you should file a dispute with the bank. This complaint must be filed within a specified number of days from the date on which the bank mailed the statement that showed the error.

2. Will it be called a late payment if a payment was made on the due date?

Yes, the bank can call it a late payment based on the terms and conditions of your SBI credit card bill payment decided by your account agreement. If the information in the terms and conditions say that payments made on the last date but after a specific time will be deemed as late, then the bank can call them as such. Consequently, it is always better to make payments 3-5 days before the due date.

3. What are the cheque drop box clearance timings?

Drop boxes are cleared through the week, except on Sundays and Bank Holidays. The timings are from Monday to Friday 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Drop boxes are cleared on Saturdays between 10:00 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.

4. Can I drop an outstation cheque towards my SBI credit card payment?

No, the SBI dropboxes cannot be used for outstation cheques.
