LPG is the full form of Liquid Petroleum Gas or Liquefied Petroleum Gas. The use of LPG has revolutionized the cooking process in households. Its multiple uses for Industrial and commercial purposes have made LPG an indispensable part of day-to-day operations. LPG is supplied by many big companies in the market like Bharatgas, HP Gas, Indane Gas, Gujarat Gas, IGL, etc.
Among these names, Bharatgas, HP gas and Indane Gas are the three major players that hold the majority LPG share of the market. Each company has millions of customers that they cater to. It includes domestic customers, as well as commercial and industrial customers.
In recent years, the booking of LPG has been revolutionized with the advent of technology. Customers do not have to always personally visit the nearest local distributor to book a new connection or a refill as and when they require. The above documents have to be scanned and attached along with the online application for a new connection. The scanned images usually are required to be in the JPG or PDF format. Booking through the website of the Gas supplier
The website of the gas supplier has the required link to apply for a new connection which will take the customer to the page for the same. Here, the customer will first have to register (in case of a new customer) to proceed further.
The registration process will require the customer to provide the basic details like the name, address, mobile number, type of connection (domestic/commercial/industrial), etc. after providing these details the customer will have to submit the OTP received on the mobile number to complete the registration process.
After this, the customer will receive the user id and password that can be used to log in to the website of the gas supplier and book a new connection or a refill as the case may be.
Booking through the IVRS facility of the gas supplier
All the leading gas suppliers have IVRS facility (Interactive Voice Response System) that can be used by the customers to book a refill for their LPG cylinders. The IVRS facility is usually available in three languages namely the local language, Hindi and English for the benefit of the consumers. Customers can proceed by selecting the desired language as per the guidance provided by the IVRS facility. The IVRS numbers of the gas suppliers can be sought from the website of such gas suppliers.
Booking through the SMS facility of the gas supplier
Another important way to book a new connection or a refill is through the SMS facility of the gas supplier. Most gas suppliers offer this facility to the new as well as existing customers. The customer will have to first register their mobile number that corresponds to their consumer number with the gas supplier.
The SMS for the same has to be sent in the format as required by the gas supplier. Each supplier has a specific format that is recognized for the registration process. Any SMS sent in any other format will be ignored and the registration will not happen. For example, the registration format for Bharatgas is as follows.

The above SMS has to be sent to 57333 that is available all over India. Vodafone, Idea, Airtel, MTNL and TATA users can send the SMS to 52725.
After registration for this service, the customers can book a refill by sending an SMS in the specific format as required by the gas supplier. For example, the format for requesting a refill for Bharatgas is given below.

Customers will get a confirmation SMS for the acceptance of the request and also a subsequent SMS at the time of an execution of the delivery successfully.
Booking through the mobile application of the gas supplier
Nowadays, the majority of gas suppliers offer a mobile application that the customer can use to not only book a new connection or a refill but also for various other purposes like tracking their cylinders, booking a second connection, rating the distributor, locating the nearest distributor, providing their feedback, etc. The name of the mobile application is available at the suppliers website.
The customers can use this name to search the application from the Google Playstore or the Apple Store and download the same. In order to avail the various facilities offered by the application, the customers will first have to register their consumer number and the corresponding mobile number associated with the same with the respective mobile application. After that the customers can perform the various tasks available with the application at their convenience.
