Other important personal information contained in this document includes the name of the person, date of birth, and biometric data, thus making it crucial for various government and financial transactions. Losing your Aadhaar card will make it difficult to carry out several financial transactions, but you can still retrieve it or obtain a duplicate card. Let us now see how to retrieve your Aadhaar card using various methods.
Here is a step by step guide to retrieve your Aadhaar card using the Self-Service Portal:
Step 1: Go to the UIDAI self-service website at https://ssup.uidai.gov.in/web/guest/ssup-home and click on the "Retrieve Lost or Forgotten UID/EID" button.
Step 2: Choose the relevant option (Aadhaar number or enrolment number) that you want to retrieve
Step 3: Key in your full name, registered email address, and registered mobile number.
Step 4: Type the security code shown on the screen and click “Get One Time Password”
Step 5: Enter the OTP obtained on your registered mobile number or email address.
Step 6: After the OTP verification, the Aadhaar number or enrolment number will be sent to your registered mobile number or email address.
Step 7: Go to the UIDAI self-service portal again and click “Download Aadhaar”.
Step 8: Type in your Aadhaar number or enrolment number, name, pin code, and captcha code.
Step 9: Click the “Get One Time Password” button and enter the OTP received on your registered mobile number or email
Step 10: Post OTP verification, you can download a copy of your Aadhaar card.

Step 3: Pay the fee (If it is applicable) and submit the form.
Step 4: You will obtain an acknowledgement slip with your enrolment number.

Step 6: You can now have a preliminary view of the Aadhaar card particulars (Possible if your mobile number is registered with Aadhaar).
Step 7: You can make the payment using either netbanking, debit card, or credit card.
Step 8: After the payment is successful, you can download the payment slip
As per the UIDAI website, after you submit the request for an Aadhaar PVC card, the UIDAI will deliver the card to the post office within 5 working days (The date of request is not included). The PVC card will then be sent to your address of residence through a speed post.
