For transferring money to another bank account using online banking through RTGS or NEFT, you will have to add the bank details of the beneficiary including account number, name and IFSC Code of the branch where the person maintains the account. Only after the IFSC code is verified, you can send fund to the person you intend to do the transaction.

All the banks are advised to print the IFSC code of the branch on cheques issued to the customers.
