Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) is one of the oldest and popular LPG suppliers in India. HPCL supplies LPG gas cylinders under the brand name HP Gas. HP Gas has a huge customer base of over 85 million customers that are catered through an extensive network of more than 6000 LPG distributors across the country. Though LPG is primarily used for domestic cooking purposes, it is also used by several industries and plants for commercial purposes.
HP Gas Booking can be made through the nearest local distributor or through the online modes of the company. In this guide, you can find all that you need to know about booking HP Gas cylinders, online and offline.

As per the LPG policy of certain states, the customer may also have to provide ration cards for the issue of new applications.
The procedure for booking a new connection or a refill of HP Gas is either through the local distributor directly or through the online options available.
Booking through Distributor
The process to locate the nearest local distributor is very easy. The customers can check the website of HP Gas and locate their nearest local distributor by clicking on the following link:

The customers will then need to provide the state and the district details by selecting them from the drop down box and finally entering the captcha code displayed on the screen. After that the new page will display the list of distributors in the location selected and the customer can choose their preferred/closest distributor from the list.
After contacting the distributor, the customer can submit the required documents along with the application form to the distributor to apply for a new connection. The distributor will verify the documents and then sanction the new connection upon satisfaction. The customer can then book the refill of the cylinder as and when needed by contacting the distributor and providing the consumer number.
Booking through Online Options
There are a host of options at the disposal of the customer to make an online booking of HP Gas. These options are discussed below.
Booking through website
The first option is to book through the website of HP Gas. The website will require registration of the consumer for further access and making the booking as well as the payment for the same. The registration process requires the customer to provide name, address, and mobile number to proceed and then the OTP received on the mobile number provided to validate the registration.
After this, the customer can book a new connection and upload the documents in the required format (JPG/PDF) or submit them personally at the distributor’s office. Customers can also book a refill, provide feedback or even give up the subsidy received via the website of HP Gas by logging in using the user id and password generated at the time of registration.
Booking through SMS
SMS facility of HP Gas can be used to book refills for the cylinder and track the same using the reference number provided after making the booking. The prerequisite for such a facility is to register with the same using an active and valid mobile number. The format for registering is HP space DistributorPhoneNumberWithStdCode space ConsumerNumber
An SMS in the above format is to be sent to the HP ANYTIME Number of the state for registration for such service. Subsequently, the format for sending an SMS to book a refill is ‘HPGAS’. The SMS has to be sent to the HP ANYTIME number of the respective state.
The customer will receive the confirmation SMS for the booking made stating the cash memo number, cash memo date, type of cash memo (Subsidized or unsubsidized) and also for delivery.
Booking through IVRS
The IVRS facility of HP Gas is available throughout the country and is accessible 24x7. Customers can contact the IVRS facility and choose from the three available languages (Local language/Hindi/English) as per their convenience. This facility is available for registered as well as unregistered customers and the IVRS will guide the customers to book the refill. The other available options through the IVRS facility are to provide the feedback for the distributor or to lodge a complaint among others.

Booking through Mobile application
The Mobile application of HP Gas is known as ‘ HPGas’ and is available for android phones as well as iphones through Google Playstore and Apple Store respectively. Customers can perform a host of functions through this mobile application like booking a second cylinder, booking a refill, making payments, locating the distributor, applying for transfer of connection, etc.

1. What is the equipment received by the customer while applying for a new HP Gas connection?
The equipment received by HP Gas customers after receiving the connection are one/two cylinders and a regulator.
2. What is the deposit to be paid by customers for a new connection?
The deposit to be paid by customers for a new connection is Rs 1,450 per cylinder i.e. Rs. 2,900 in total (Rs. 1,150 per cylinder for customers of North Eastern States and UTs)
3. What are the additional accessories that are provided by HP Gas?
HP Gas provides branded Hot Plates and Suraksha LPG Hose as part of additional accessories along with the standard equipment.
4. What is a Termination Voucher?
Termination Voucher (TV) is the document provided by the local distributor when the customer puts in a request to transfer the connection from one city to another. The TV is then to be submitted to the local distributor of the new city who will sanction the new connection along with new SV and DCGC.
5. Does HP Gas provide insurance to the customers?
All HP Gas customers holding a valid SV are insured against any accident due to the LPG at their premises (address to be as registered under the SV). The details of the same are available at the website of HP gas or with the local distributor.
