Axis Bank is a leading private sector bank in our country. The Bank has a huge range of products and services like insurance, loans, demat services, investments, cards, forex, etc. for its retail customers as well as corporate and NRI customers. The Bank requires all the customers to like their accounts with their PAN Cards. This is a mandatory requirement as per revised RBI guidelines as well as Axis Bank guidelines. PAN Card is the Permanent Account Number issued by the Income Tax Department of India. It is a unique 10 digit number in the combination of alpha-numeric. PAN card is issued to the taxpayers upon application and is valid for the lifetime of the PAN Card holder.
PAN Card is also an important tool for KYC requirements of the bank. Without fulfilling the KYC requirements, the account holder cannot carry on with the smooth functioning of day to day banking transactions.
Axis Bank has multiple ways to easily link the PAN card of the account holders to their respective bank accounts. The procedure to link the PAN Card to the Axis Bank accounts is detailed below.
About How To Link Pan Card To Axis Bank Account
As mentioned above, Axis Bank has many ways to link one’s bank account to their PAN Cards. These methods involve online mode as well as offline mode.
Online Mode
Customer can access two ways under online mode of linking the bank account to their PAN Cards. These modes are,
This is another mode of linking the PAN Card to the Axis Bank account of the account holder through online banking facility. Under this method, the customer will have to first download the Axis Mobile App and register for the same to proceed any further.
Customers can also update their PAN Card by simply sending an SMS from their registered mobile number as well. The SMS has to be sent in the following format
PAN Customer ID
Such SMS in the above format has to be sent to 5676782.
Offline mode
Offline mode to link the Pan Card to the Axis Bank account of the user is by physically visiting the branch of the bank and getting the PAN card linked by filling a form there.
In case the customer is an entity (non-individual), the PAN updation or linking process can be done only via offline mode.
Linking of PAN Card may be a mandatory requirement of the bank but there are numerous benefits of linking one’s PAN card to the bank account as well. Some of such benefits are listed below.

Jan Dhan Accounts and Basic Small Savings Bank Accounts are currently exempt from linking their bank accounts with their PAN Cards.
3. Can a person open an Axis Bank account without PAN Card?
Yes. A person not having a Valid PAN Card can submit Form 60/61 at the time of opening an account with the Bank.
4. What is the time limit to link or provide PAN Card information in case of persons who have submitted Form 60/61 at the time of opening the Bank account?
Persons who did not submit their PAN Card information at the time of opening the account have to submit the same within 6 months.
