Gujarat Gas was incorporated in the year 1980 and is owned by Gujarat State Petroleum Corporation. It is headquartered in Ahmedabad and is the largest city gas distribution company in the country. Gujarat Gas provides Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) and Piped Natural Gas (PNG). It is predominantly present in Gujarat (in 23 districts) and also supplies fuel to the Union territory of Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Thane Geographical Area (GA) including Palghar District of Maharashtra.

The customer has to submit certain basic KYC documents that are required to validate or authenticate the identity and address. The customer can submit any two of the following documents as part of the documentation needed while applying for a new connection.
The customer may also need to provide any additional documents if required by the officials of Gujarat Gas.
Consumers can get a new connection for Gujarat Gas by submitting an online application for the same at the company’s official website (gujaratgas[dot]com). The type of connection needed, (whether domestic, commercial or industrial) will determine the application form to be filled by the customer. The customer will have to select the required tab from the website and then proceed by filling the relevant details in the page directed to.
Domestic PNG Connection
For a domestic PNG connection of Gujarat Gas, the customer will have to select ‘New Connection’ from the website through the following path “Home Our Businesses PNG Domestic New Connection.” The customer will be directed to a new page where he/she will have to fill all the required details like name, address, contact number, email id, city and district.
The customer will then be required to enter the captcha code displayed on the screen and then submit the application. The representatives of Gujarat Gas will then contact the customer to guide them for the further process for connection or if the customer can get a connection or not.
Commercial PNG Connection
The customer can apply for a new connection of Gujarat Gas PNG for commercial or non-commercial purposes through the following link “Home Our Businesses PNG Commercial New Connection.” Here again, the customer will be directed to a new page wherein all the details will have to be submitted like name of the business, type of business, current fuel used, location, contact person, contact number, email id, location where PNG connection is needed, etc.
After entering the unique captcha code displayed on the screen and submitting the application, the representative of Gujarat Gas will contact the person mentioned in the application for further details and application process for the new connection.
Industrial PNG Connection
The link for applying for a new industrial PNG Connection is mentioned below, “Home Our Businesses PNG Industrial New Connection.” The customer will have to provide the similar details required for an industrial PNG application like name of the business, type of business, current fuel used, location, contact person, contact number, email id, location where PNG connection is needed, etc.
The final step before submitting the application is to enter the captcha code and then submitting the application for further processing. The contact person mentioned in the application will be contacted by the Gujarat gas representative to guide for further details pertaining to the application or if the connection is not possible in the location or for any other reasons, the same will be mentioned to such contact person of the entity.

1. What are the payment options for Gujarat Gas PNG ?
The customers can make a payment for their domestic PNG connection through any of the following means
In case of Commercial, Non-commercial or Industrial connections, the customers will have to get in touch with the customer care centers or the local offices of Gujarat Gas to get the bank details and make the payment through NEFT or RTGS. Such payment can be made through the customer’s bank branch or net banking account.
2. What are the components to be installed at the premises for PNG domestic connection?
After the connection request of the customer is approved and the required payment is made, the company will install a meter, valve and a regulator at the customer’s household as part of the equipment needed.
3. Can a person get a PNG connection even if he/she is residing in rented premises?
Yes. A person can get a PNG connection on an application made by the owner of the house or such place of residence. The customer can also apply for the connection after getting a NOC (No Objection Certificate) from the owner.
4. Can a vehicle run on petrol if CNG in the tank is exhausted?
Yes. A vehicle can be run on petrol by flipping a switch provided on the dashboard of the car in the event that CNG is exhausted from the tank.
5. Is conversion of diesel cars to CNG cheaper compared to petrol version?
No. The conversion cost of a diesel car to CNG is higher as compared to a petrol car to CNG.
