LPG is widely used for domestic and industrial uses. It has many uses compared to petrol, diesel or electricity.
Public Sector LPG companies play a vital role in the domestic market. There are close to 263 million LPG connections in India. Managing demand and delivering to these many households is a mammoth task.
The only hassle with public sector LPG connections is the amount of documentation involved. These companies are very stringent with the documentation and scrutinize your documents a lot. They also take quite some time to allot a new connection to you causing some inconvenience to applicants who are in urgent need of a connection.
They also urge that one household can have only one gas connection. They are then required to get a ration card in their name so that they can apply for a gas connection. This is a lot of work and one of the primary reasons that they seek gas connections from private players.
Many private players are active in the LPG distribution business in India. Supergas can be called the pioneer with the most years of experience followed by Jyoti Gas and Reliance Gas. More and more private players are foraying into this segment due to the high demand for domestic use and vehicle fuel use.
Private players offer various value added services to their customers like, online booking, online payment, simple documentation, quicker delivery and many more.
