Forgot ATM PIN? Here's How You Can Reset It

ATM PINs are essential for using your debit card at ATMs to perform various transactions like cash withdrawals, balance inquiries, mini statements, and mobile number updates. However, with the increased use of UPI for payments, many users visit ATMs less frequently, often leading to forgotten PINs. Don’t worry if you have forgotten your ATM PIN too. Resetting your ATM PIN is a simple process, and you can do it through multiple channels for added convenience. Here’s how:

  1. Online Banking:

  • Netbanking: Log in to your netbanking account and navigate to the Debit Card Services or ATM Card Services menu. Select the 'Reset PIN' or 'Generate New PIN' option. Enter a new PIN and verify it using the OTP sent to your registered mobile number.

  • Mobile App: Open your bank's mobile app, go to the Debit Card Services or ATM Card Services section, and follow the same steps as above. This process is quick and will reset your ATM PIN instantly.

  1. Branch Visit:

  • If you don't have access to netbanking or the mobile app, visit your bank branch. Request them to reset your PIN. They will send your new PIN through post. If you are travelling, or not present at the registered address, you can request the PIN to be sent to your nearest brand and go collect it.

  1. ATM

  • Insert your card into the ATM and select the 'Forgot PIN' option. Follow the on-screen instructions and verify your identity using the OTP sent to your registered mobile number. This method is simple and convenient, just make sure to have your mobile phone with you.

Even with the rise in UPI transactions, ATM usage remains important for cash withdrawals, mini statements, and account updates. Keeping your ATM PIN safe is crucial, but in case you forget it, these easy steps can help you reset it efficiently.
