Post office accounts are widely used by Indians for savings accounts and deposit accounts. Citizens also use post office accounts for various savings schemes like PPF, NSC, monthly savings schemes, etc. In recent times, account holders are required to include their phone numbers in these post office accounts to receive account related SMSes.

So, if you hold a post office account, and have recently changed your mobile number, how do you update it on your post office account? Can you do it online?

Unfortunately, NO, you cannot update the mobile number on your post office account online; either on the IPPB mobile banking app or the online banking portal.

Your mobile number is considered part of your KYC details and you need to visit your home branch to update it on your account.

Online updating of phone number or mobile number on your post office account is not available. You need to visit your home branch to update the same. You need to fill and submit a form to update the mobile number, email address and other demographic details on your post office account.
