Your PAN Card is a vital document for most financial transactions in India. Be it opening a bank account or filing your income tax returns, your PAN number has to be mentioned.  

We want our PAN card to have up to date information, including our mobile number and email address so that we don’t miss any relevant communication relating to our accounts.  

So what happens when you want to update the email address on your PAN card? How can you update your email address or any other information on your PAN card? Can you do it online or offline?  

You can easily update your email address on PAN card online through the NSDL website.  

  1. Go to the Protean TIN PAN services site at https://www.protean-tinpan.com/ 
  2. You need to choose the ‘Change/Correction in PAN Data’ application form and click ‘Apply Now’.  
  3. It opens the form for change or update in PAN card data.  
  4. On the first page, you need to input your name, date of birth and other demographic details 
  5. You will then be given a token number and ask if you want to submit your application digitally. Choose this option to continue with the application submission.  
  6. The next screen will ask for Aadhaar authentication. Complete it.  
  7. In the consecutive screens, you will have the field to enter your updated email address. Input the new email address there.  
  8. For documentary proof, you can upload soft copy of your PAN.  
  9. Make the necessary payment and submit the application.  

The application process can take anywhere between 7 -20 days. Once the changes have been effected, you will receive notification via SMS and email.
