You can cancel the SBI PULSE card by contacting SBI in writing or by calling the SBI Card Helpline. You must destroy your credit card(s) by cutting them diagonally after submitting your request for account termination. This is to stop the credit card from being used fraudulently. Your request will result in the immediate termination of the add-on cards.
Termination will take effect once all amounts owed on the card account have been paid.
The helpline for SBI credit cards is 1860-180-1290, or 39-02-02-02 (by using the local STD code as a prefix).
Questions to Ask Before you Cancel your SBI PULSE Card
1:Have you paid all your credit card dues?
Ensure that you have paid all your credit card dues before canceling the credit card. An unpaid credit card balance can negatively affect your credit score.
2:Have you checked any accumulated reward points?
Make sure you check if there are any accumulated reward points that you can redeem. Reward points accrue when you spend on a credit card. It is your loss if you do not redeem them.
3:Have you initiated a credit card payment just before putting in the cancelation request?
Your credit card cancellation request will be rejected if you have just used the credit card. This is because you will have credit outstanding and hence the bank will not allow the cancellation.
4:My credit card repayment history is good. Should I cancel the credit card?
No, you shouldn’t. Good credit cards should be kept active as they help improve credit scores. A good credit score further helps in getting loans approved.
