How To Check The Validity Of Your PAN Card
- Visit the official Income Tax e-filing website.
- In the left menu bar, click on “Link Aadhar Status”.
- Enter your PAN number and Aadhar number.
- Click on “View Link Aadhar Status”.
- A message will be displayed as to whether your PAN and Aadhar are linked.
- Your PAN card is valid, if the PAN and Aadhar are linked.
- If it is not linked, you have to pay a penalty of Rs 1,000 via Challan No ITNS 280 with Major Head 0021 and Minor Head 500.
- The PAN and Aadhar can be linked by paying Rs 1,000 only until 31st March 2023.
- Post which the PAN card becomes inoperative.
- PAN number which is the base for operating your DEMAT account, GSTIN, IEC Code, and various other statutory registrations becomes inoperative.
- You can also check your PAN-Aadhar linked status by logging into your e-filing account.
- On the top of the income tax e-filing page, click on “Login”.
- Enter your PAN as the user id and the password.
- Click the checkbox for confirming the secure access message.
- On the top menu bar, click on your name and My Profile.
- In the personal details section, you can find Aadhar Number - Linked or Not Linked.
