If you have forgotten your SBI profile password, you can reset it online. Let us now read about how to do it.  

Steps to Reset the SBI Profile Password 

a) Using the hint question answer.  

Step 1: Go to the online SBI portal 

Step 2: Enter your username, password, and captcha code 

Step 3: Key in the OTP received on your phone  

Step 4: Click on My Accounts and Profile and then Profile  

Step 5: Tap on change passwords 

Step 6: Click on the profile password tab 

Step 7: Then, click on forgot profile password 

Step 8: Enter the new OTP received 

Step 9: You will get three ways here – By using the hint question answer, by going to the branch, and approval through ATM debit card.   

Step 10: Choose using Hint Question Answer 

Step 11: In the subsequent screen, choose the hint question, which you had entered when you generated your profile password initially.  

Step 12: Enter the reply to the hint question  

Step 13: Click submit 

Step 14: Enter a new profile password on the subsequent screen (The password should be a combination of digits, special characters, and letters in the upper and lower case). 

Step 15: Confirm the password by re-entering it.  

Step 16: Opt for a hint question and answer for the same.   

Step 17: Click submit  

b) Without using the hint question answer 

If you don’t remember the hint question or answer or have never earlier set the SBI profile password, you can go to the branch to reset the profile password. 

Step 1: Click profile. Then, click the forgot profile password. You will be taken to the forgot profile password page.   

Step 2: Click the forgot hint question and answer hyperlink shown at the lower end of this page.  

Step 3: A page named forgot hint answer appears and a form is displayed on it. Choose your branch. 

Step 4: Choose your branch and click submit. A window pops up and it shows a registration form for duplicate profile password.  

Step 5: Download the form and save it on your computer.  

Step 6: Click the popup window. You will be shown a reference number for the reset password request in a confirmation page.  

Step 7: Note the reference number and print the registration form. Then, fill it up with the necessary details.  

Step 8: Submit the form at your branch. Then, furnish a request for changing the profile password. 

Step 9: Spell out the reference number while submitting the registration form at the branch.  

c) To reset the password through mobile OTP 

Step 1: Click profile and then choose the page named forgot profile password. 

Step 2: There are two radio buttons on the page - approve through hint question and answer and the other one is approve through OTP. 

Step 3: Click the radio button called approve via OTP.  

Step 4: An SMS will be sent to your registered mobile number.  

Step 5: Enter the correct OTP. The user can also enter a new hint question and answer.  

Step 6: User can use the resend OTP option three times if the OTP is missed.
