How to Download Aadhaar Card from UIDAI Using Aadhaar Number?

If you already have the Aadhaar card and the Aadhaar number, then you can download it. To download and print the e-Aadhaar card online, follow the steps mentioned below:

Step 1: Go to the official website of Aadhaar and click on the option, “Download Aadhaar” listed under the My Aadhaar tab or visit the link - https://myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in/genricDownloadAadhaar

Step 2: Choose the option - “Aadhaar Number” and input the 12-digit Aadhaar Number and security code.

Step 3: Code and click on the “Send OTP” option to receive the OTP on your registered mobile number.

Step 4: Choose the “Do you want a masked Aadhaar” option for Masked Aadhaar card download.

Step 5: Enter the OTP received and hit “Verify And Download”

Step 6: You will get a message about the successful download of your Aadhaar card upon verification.

After the download, you can see a password-protected Aadhaar card PDF in your downloads folder. To open it, you have to enter an 8-character password. The password will be a combination of the first 4 letters of your name (As found in the Aadhaar) in capital letters and year of birth in the format - YYYY.

Steps to Download e-Aadhaar Using Name and Date of Birth

If you have missed your enrollment ID for Aadhaar, then you can find it using your name, date of birth, phone number, and email address. Once you recover the Aadhaar number, you can download the document through the following steps:

Step 1: Go to the official website of UIDAI, and click on Retrieve Lost or Forgotten EID/UID

Step 2: Choose the button for ‘Enrolment ID’ or ‘Aadhaar Number’.

Step 3: Enter your full name as given when you applied for your Aadhaar card.

Step 4: Enter the mobile number, which you provided at the time of enrolment.

Step 5: Alternatively, you can provide your registered email address.

Step 6: Enter the captcha code given.

Steps to Download e-Aadhaar Using Virtual ID

To download your Aadhaar card using your VID, these steps have to be followed.

Step 1: Visit the online website of UIDAI.

Step 2: Choose ‘Download Aadhaar’ under ‘My Aadhaar’

Step 3: Choose the VID option and enter your VID.

Step 4: Input the captcha code and click on ‘Send OTP’

Step 5: Submit the OTP obtained on your registered mobile number.

Step 6: Download your e-Aadhaar.

Steps to Download Aadhaar Card with Enrolment ID

You can also use an enrolment ID to download your e-Aadhaar.

Step 1: Go to the official website of UIDAI.

Step 2: Under ‘My Aadhaar’, choose ‘Download Aadhaar’

Step 3: Choose the Enrolment ID option.

Step 4: Enter your 28-digit Enrolment ID number. Input the captcha details given.

Step 5: Choose 'Send OTP 'and enter the OTP.

DigiLocker is a mobile application which enables users to download their Aadhaar cards and save them digitally. To download your Aadhaar card seamlessly and safely using DigiLocker, it is essential to register your mobile number with your Aadhaar card at the time of enrolling.

Here are the steps to download your Aadhaar using Digilocker

Step 1: On the smartphone, download the DigiLocker app.Then, Login.

Step 2: Choose the partner as UIDAI (Unique Identification Authority of India) and the document type you want.

Step 3: From the dropdown menu, choose 'Aadhaar'.

Step 4: Input your Aadhaar number and the OTP (One Time Password). They will be dispatched to your registered mobile number.

Step 5: After the verification is complete, you can download your Aadhaar card from the ‘Issued’ section of the app.

Step 6: You can now use the digitally authenticated copy of your Aadhaar card for various needs.

How To Download Your Aadhaar Card Using mAadhaar App?

Users can download their Aadhaar card on their mobiles using the mAadhaar app. They can check the Aadhaar details on their smartphones. Here are the steps to download the Aadhaar card using the mAadhaar app.

Step 1: Open the mAadhaar app on your mobile device.

Step 2: If your mobile number is registered with Aadhaar, continue towards downloading the card.

Step 3: An SMS will be sent to your mobile number with a One Time Password. The OTP is auto-read by the app.

Step 4: You can download upto a maximum of 3 Aadhaar cards from 3 different profiles if the profiles have the same mobile number registered on their Aadhaar cards.

How To Download Your Aadhaar Card Using Umang App?

The UMANG app was developed by the government to make e-governance mobile-first. It was developed by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) and the National e-Governance Division (NeGD). This app allows you to access e-Governance services from the central, state, and local bodies and agencies across India. The app is unified with digital India services such as Aadhaar and DigiLocker.

Here are the steps to download your Aadhaar using UMANG

Step 1: Do the registration and log into your account.

Step 2: Go to ‘All Services’ and choose ‘Aadhaar Card’.

Step 3: Select ‘View Aadhaar Card from Digilocker’.

Step 4: You will be forwarded to the DigiLocker home page. Now, register or sign in to DigiLocker.

Step 5: Before you register on DigiLocker, make sure that your mobile number has already been registered with Aadhaar.

Step 6: You can see your Aadhaar Card on the app via DigiLocker.

How To Print Your Aadhaar Card?

After you download your e-Aadhaar, you can follow the steps below to print it

Step 1: Your e-Aadhaar is a ‘pdf’ file. So, you can open it using any PDF reader (Such as Microsoft Edge or Adobe Acrobat)

Step 2: Give the password. Your password will be a combination of the first four letters of your name (in caps) followed by the year of your birth in the format YYYY. For instance, if your name is Sharadha Vishwanathan and your date of birth is 7/6/1984, your password will be 'SHAR1984'.

Step 3: Once the file is opened, choose the ‘Print’ option. indicate the desired quantity of copies you wish to print, then select 'Print'.

Step 4: Check if a printer is connected to your device. If you do not have a printer, you can print the document from a computer that has a printer attached to it.Save it onto a portable device or send it to your email.

Step 5: Ensure to have the necessary information with you before you download an Aadhaar card.

Things To Keep in Mind About the Aadhaar Card Download Process

1. It is mandatory to register your mobile number: It is mandatory to register your number with UIDAI (Unique Identification Authority of India) before you download your Aadhaar card.

2. OTP is mandatory: UIDAI will send an OTP to your registered mobile number. This number will be used to provide authentication for the Aadhaar card download process. This is an important step in the authentication process.

3. Multiple downloads can be done: You can download your Aadhaar card as many times as you want. There is no limit on the number of times you can download it.

4. Downloaded Aadhaar card is valid: The digital copy of the Aadhaar card is a substitute for the hard copy of the Aadhaar card. It behaves as a valid identity proof
