The Aadhaar is a 12 digit unique identification number that is issued by the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI). If you already have the Aadhaar card and the Aadhaar number, then you can download it. To download and print the e-Aadhaar card online, follow the steps mentioned below:
Step 1: Go to the official website of Aadhaar and click on the option, “Download Aadhaar” listed under the My Aadhaar tab or visit the link - https://myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in/genricDownloadAadhaar
Step 2: Choose the option - “Aadhaar Number” and input the 12-digit Aadhaar Number and security code.
Step 3: Code and click on the “Send OTP” option to receive the OTP on your registered mobile number.
Step 4: Choose the “Do you want a masked Aadhaar” option for Masked Aadhaar card download.
Step 5: Enter the OTP received and hit “Verify And Download”
Step 6: You will get a message about the successful download of your Aadhaar card upon verification.
After the download, you can see a password-protected Aadhaar card PDF in your downloads folder. To open it, you have to enter an 8-character password. The password will be a combination of the first 4 letters of your name (As found in the Aadhaar) in capital letters and year of birth in the format - YYYY.
If you have missed your enrollment ID for Aadhaar, then you can find it using your name, date of birth, phone number, and email address. Once you recover the Aadhaar number, you can download the document through the following steps:
Step 1: Go to the official website of UIDAI, and click on Retrieve Lost or Forgotten EID/UID
Step 2: Choose the button for ‘Enrolment ID’ or ‘Aadhaar Number’.
Step 3: Enter your full name as given when you applied for your Aadhaar card.
Step 4: Enter the mobile number, which you provided at the time of enrolment.

To download your Aadhaar card using your VID, these steps have to be followed.
Step 1: Visit the online website of UIDAI.

Step 1: On the smartphone, download the DigiLocker app.Then, Login.

Step 1: Your e-Aadhaar is a ‘pdf’ file. So, you can open it using any PDF reader (Such as Microsoft Edge or Adobe Acrobat)
Step 2: Give the password. Your password will be a combination of the first four letters of your name (in caps) followed by the year of your birth in the format YYYY. For instance, if your name is Sharadha Vishwanathan and your date of birth is 7/6/1984, your password will be 'SHAR1984'.
Step 3: Once the file is opened, choose the ‘Print’ option. indicate the desired quantity of copies you wish to print, then select 'Print'.
Step 4: Check if a printer is connected to your device. If you do not have a printer, you can print the document from a computer that has a printer attached to it.Save it onto a portable device or send it to your email.
Step 5: Ensure to have the necessary information with you before you download an Aadhaar card.
