PAN Card acts as an important document to carry out any major financial transaction in India. Be it a bank account opening, purchase of property, or investment in the stock market, your PAN card plays a crucial role. You are required to upload soft copy of your PAN card in many applications. So the Govt. Of India came up with the concept of e-PAN to make it convenient for consumers to present their PAN card in an easily accessible digital format.
1. PAN card holders who originally obtained their PAN numbers through NSDL or UTIISL can download their ePAN card quickly through these portals.
2. E-PAN Card can also be downloaded by applicants who obtained their PAN numbers through the Instant e-PAN Card application process on the Income Tax portal.

There are 3 options to download your e-PAN card instantly online -
PAN card holders who obtained their PAN originally through the NSDL Portal can download their e-PAN card from their portal -
1. Please visit the official NSDL page Protean PAN Services - PAN Card Application & Issuance (protean-tinpan.com) to start your E-PAN card download process.2. On this page, scroll to the bottom left to click on one of the options as per your PAN application status.
3. You now see 2 options on the next screen - ‘Acknowledgement Number or PAN.’
4. Enter your 10-digit alphanumeric PAN card number in the PAN option.
5. Enter your Aadhaar number, date of birth, GSTN (optional), and validate the captcha code (only for individuals).
6. Click on the check box and hit Submit.
7. The PDF of your e-Pan card will appear on the screen.
8. Then, to download the e-PAN card instantly, select the 'download PDF' option.
2. Scroll down to the bottom to find ‘PAN Card Services’ under ‘Our Services’. Here, click on ‘Click to Visit’.
3. It will take you to the UTI PAN Card Portal. Here, click on ‘Download e-PAN’ option.
4. On the next screen, enter your PAN card number and date of birth (as mentioned in your PAN application). Please type them in.
5. After that, enter the CAPTCHA code and click 'Submit.'
6. An OTP is sent to the user's registered mobile number via SMS and/or email. Once the system verifies your credentials, a e-PAN download link is sent to your email Id.
7. By clicking on this link, users can download their e-PAN.
8. If the user's mobile number and email address are not yet registered, the user should do so first by submitting a change/correction request form before using the e-PAN download facility.
If you have applied for an Instant e-PAN through the income tax portal, you can download your Instant e-PAN on the income tax portal itself.
1. Visit the official income tax e-filing portal at https://www.incometax.gov.in/iec/foportal/2. On the left side of the page is a Quick Link menu with the option ‘Instant e-PAN’. Click on it.
3. Then select the ‘Check Status/Download PAN’ option.
4. Input the correct Aadhaar number and hit Continue.
5. Complete the OTP authentication through the mobile number linked to your Aadhaar.
6. You can then download your e-PAN card on the next screen.
If you don’t have a PAN number till now, you can apply for an Instant e-PAN card online through the Income Tax portal.
This Instant e-PAN holds the same validity as the traditional, printed PAN card and is accepted as a valid income tax document as stipulated by the Ministry of Finance, Govt. Of India.
One can apply for an Instant e-PAN card online with just their Aadhaar number.
1. Visit the official Income Tax e-filing Portal at https://www.incometax.gov.in/iec/foportal/
2. On the left side of the page is a Quick Link menu with the option ‘Instant e-PAN’. Click on it.
3. Click on ‘Get New e-PAN’ option.
4. Enter your 12-digit Aadhaar number and check that box for self-declaration.
5. It will use Aadhaar e-KYC verification to verify your details.
6. Once verified, your e-PAN card application is submitted successfully.
7. After processing the request, your e-PAN will be issued within a couple of days.
Instant e-PAN can be applied for by individuals who don’t hold a PAN card in their name -

Your e-PAN card is similar to a PAN card and will have your name, your photograph, date of birth, father’s name, your gender, and your signature. It will also have a QR code that contains all this information for easy scanning.

5. I already have a PAN number. Can I apply for instant e-PAN on the income tax website?
No, if you have a PAN number already, you shouldn’t apply for a new Instant e-PAN Card online.
6. I have lost my PAN card. Can I apply for the Instant e-PAN Online?
No, if you have lost your PAN card, you can apply for re-download of your PAN number using your Aadhaar number and other details. You cannot apply for a new Instant e-PAN card.
