  • The BPCL SBI Credit Card being issued in collaboration with Bharat Petroleum is primarily a fuel card but it also has many additional benefits other than on fuel transactions.
  • The customers can save up to Rs.100 per month towards the surcharge on the fuel transactions which amounts to a savings of Rs. 1,200 per year.
  • The other reward benefits include 5x (5 times) the reward points on a minimum transaction of Rs. 100 spent on either any of the following activities,
    • Movies
    • Dining
    • Purchasing groceries
    • Spent on departmental stores
  • The bank also offers 1 reward point on every transaction of minimum Rs. 100 towards non-fuel related purchases.
  • Furthermore, BPCL SBI Credit Cards offers welcome gifts to its customers. This welcome gift includes 2000 Activation Bonus Reward points which are equivalent to Rs. 500 i.e. the value of the joining fee.
  • These reward points will be credited to the customer’s account 20 days after the payment of the joining fee.
  • The customer can redeem these reward points instantly thereafter against the fuel transaction at any BPCL Outlets or against BPCL vouchers or against Shop and Smile rewards catalogue.
  • Other value added benefits of the BPCL SBI Credit Card include 13x (13 times) reward points on fuel transactions or fuel purchase at recognized BPCL outlets or petrol pumps.
  • The customer is entitled to get a maximum of 1300 reward points per billing cycle.
  • The total value added benefits amount to 4.25% valueback, which includes the 13 times reward points mentioned above that comes to about 3.25% as well as the fuel surcharge waiver of 1% on every transaction of the customer.
  • This provides the customer with a benefit up to Rs. 4000 on every transaction executed at the recognized BPCL petrol pumps across the country.
  • The other additional benefits of the card that are available to the cardholder are,
    • Use of this card to pay utility bills like telephone bills, electricity bills, etc.
    • Easy availability of add on cards to family members over the age of 18 years at zero additional cost.
    • The cardholders also get the option of flexipay. This option enables the customers to convert the outright payment of a transaction to easy monthly installments (EMI). Such facility is available on any transaction over the minimum value of Rs. 2,500.
    • The bank also has the facility to waive the renewal fee for the following year if the spending or the transaction value of the customer is over Rs. 50,000 for the previous year.

Other Key Points to be noted

  • BPCL SBI Credit Card holders will receive an interest free credit period of 20 to 50 days provided the outstanding balance of the preceding month is paid in full. This facility is available only on retail transactions.
  • The minimum amount due each month will be 5% of the total amount due (minimum Rs. 200). This amount will be inclusive of taxes and the applicable EMIs (if any).
  • The interest to be charged on overdue or unsettled amount will be to the extent of 3.35% per month (40.2% per year) or Rs. 25, whichever is higher. These charges will be applicable from the date of the transactions.
  • SBI offers a cash advance limit to its BPCL SBI Credit Card holders up to 80% of the credit limit. This limit is up to a maximum of Rs. 12,000 per day.
  • An interest of Rs. 25 or 3.35% per month (40.2% per annum), whichever is higher, will be levied on the amount withdrawn from the date of the withdrawal.
