The company operates the ‘ebharatgas’ portal for customers to avail various services like gas booking, new connection registration, payment, complaint registration and other customer friendly services online.

Though Bharatgas strives to provide the best of service, consumers may have some complaints against the products and services of the company. At such times, they are encouraged to register their grievance with the company through the appropriate channels to get them resolved.

Let us have a look at some of the common complaints and the channels available to report them to the Bharatgas company.

Gas Leak Complaints

This is one of the most critical complaints and requires immediate action. If consumers detect a gas leak, they can call Bharatgas for immediate assistance. These complaints have to be attended to immediately to avoid any catastrophes. Here is the procedure to raise a gas leak complaint with Bharatgas:

  • Dial the All India Helpline Number 1906 for immediate assistance for gas leaks. This number works round the clock and immediate assistance shall be provided.
  • You can also call your distributor and they will send help immediately. 
  • You can also call the BPCL Smartline at 1800-22-4344 for immediate assistance with gas leaks.

Precautions to follow if you doubt a gas leak: 

  • The most important thing is not to panic. First, switch off the pressure regulator switch.
  • Switch off all open fires in the kitchen (including agarbattis and diyas)
  • Increase ventilation in the kitchen by opening all the doors and windows
  • Do not light a match or operate any electrical switches (including the key switch)
  • Contact the emergency line or the distributor immediately

Registering other complaints with Bharatgas

Apart from gas leakage, consumers may face various other problems and would want to complain about them to the company. Bharatgas welcomes its consumers to lodge a complaint to get an amicable resolution. Here are some ways to register your complaints with Bharatgas

Via your Distributor

  • Your distributor is your first point of contact with the company. 
  • You can call them on their phone number dedicated for complaints and feedback and register your grievance.
  • You can walk in to their office premises during working hours and register your complaint with the respective authority.
  • The address and phone numbers of your nearest distributors can be found on the ebharatgas portal.

Via the Regional Head Office of Bharatgas

If you feel that your grievance has not been handled diligently by the distributor, you can contact the regional head office of Bharatgas.

Registering your Complaints Online

Consumers also have the option to register their complaints online. They can log on to the ebharatgas portal to register their grievances.

  • Visit the ebharatgas portal.
  • On the top menu bar select Contact Us and then choose ‘Talk to Us’. 
  • It will take you to a complaint registration form. 
  • Here, you will be required to fill in details like your mobile number, LPG ID, State or district details, distributor details and LPG Consumer number.
  • You can then register a complaint on this portal. 
  • The concerned authorities will go through your complaint and provide appropriate resolution.

FAQs on Bharatgas Complaints

1. What are some of the safety rules to be followed with an LPG Gas connection?

Here are some basic safety rules everyone should follow while using an LPG Connection:

  • Always remember to shut the regulator valve when not using the stove, particularly at night. Never tamper with your cylinder parts or connected appliances.
  • Make sure that the valve and other parts are working in order. If you notice something wrong with any component, call your distributor immediately and ask for a mechanic to come and check them.
  • Remember that cotton clothing is always safer while working in the kitchen. Do not use dupatta or nylon clothes to handle the utensils.
  • Keep the kids away from the kitchen when you're busy.
  • Always use pot holders to place hot utensils.
  • Never leave the gas stove unattended. Burners may get extinguished by spilt cooking content which may cause a gas leak.
  • Place pan handles on the sides away from the flame. Keep plastic items away from the stoves.
  • More than half of cooking gas-related injuries arise as a consequence of rubber tube leakage.
  • Get your tubes checked and changed whenever they get damaged. As a guideline, change the rubber tube after two years. Using the Suraksha LPG hose.
  • Retain the protective cap on unused cylinders.

2. Is there a dedicated number for gas leakage complaints?

Yes, Bharatgas has a dedicated line for gas leakage complaints. It is 1906.

3. Can I call anyone else if the 1906 number is not working?

Yes, you can call your distributor and they will send a mechanic immediately.

4. Should I stop using the stove if I smell any gas leakage?

Yes, it is of paramount importance to stop using the gas stove if you smell gas. Inform the gas leak helpline or your distributor immediately. Switch off the gas and the regulator. Open windows and doors to allow increased ventilation. Wait for the mechanic to arrive and do not try fixing the gas leak yourself.
