The 18th installment of PM Kisan scheme is expected to be released in October 2024.  

The Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Scheme is expected to release the 18th installment of the benefits in October 2024. The 17th instalment of the PM Kisan benefits was released in June 2024, benefiting more than 9.2 crore farmers who received funds to the tune of Rs.21,000 crores.  

The PM Kisan scheme was introduced in the budget of 2019 and has since grown to become the world’s largest Direct Benefit Transfer scheme.

The PM Kisan Scheme was announced by the central govt. of India, to provide an annual financial aid of Rs.6000 every year to deserving landholding farmers, credited in 3 instalments of Rs.2000 each. This financial aid aims to supplement the farmers’ income to provide for various raw materials and incidentals for their farming and related activities, and their domestic expenses.  

This scheme is 100% funded by the central govt. of India to benefit landholding farmers who own cultivable land. The purpose of this scheme is to provide these farmers with a supplementary source of income towards agricultural inputs for better farm practices and higher yield generation.  

The beneficiaries for this scheme are identified by the respective state governments and UTs, and the central government transfers the funds directly to their accounts.  

Who Are Eligible to Get the Benefits of PM Kisan Scheme 18th Instalment?  

The scheme covers landholder farmer families in India. For the purpose of this scheme, a landholder farmer family is defined as a family of husband, wife and minor children who own cultivable land as per the records of their respective state or UT.  

What Are the Benefits Given Under the PM Kisan Scheme?  

The PM Kisan scheme offers financial aid of Rs.6000 per year to landholding farmers. 

This Rs.6000 is paid in 3 instalments of Rs.2000 each.  

The instalment periods are –  

1st Instalment – April – July 

2nd Instalment – August – November  

3rd Instalment – December – March  

How to check Beneficiary list of PM Kisan Scheme? 

  1. Applicants need to go to the official portal of PM Kisan scheme at https://pmkisan.gov.in/ 

  2. Under the ‘Farmers Corner’ section, you will see the ‘Beneficiary List’ button. Click on that.  

  3. You then have to select your State, District, Sub-district, Block and Village details from the dropdown list.  Then click on ‘Get Report’.  

  4. It will display the list of beneficiaries where you can find your name.  

How to Register and Receive the PM Kisan Scheme Benefits?  

The PM Kisan scheme applications are processed on the pmkisan.gov.in portal.  

Eligible farmers have to register on this portal with their Aadhaar number to receive this benefit.

  2. Click on the ‘New Farmer Registration’ button.  

  3. The scheme identifies the beneficiaries based on the Aadhaar database. So please enter your 12-digit Aadhaar number.  

  4. You also need to enter your mobile number; preferably the one linked to your Aadhaar number to enable OTP verification.  

  5. Once your Aadhaar details are verified, you are taken to the Registration Form.  

  1. Fill in your family details and landholding details. Here are the details you will be asked to fill in –  

  • Aadhaar card details 

  • Bank account details  

  • Self-declaration details relating to your income and employment status  

  • Land holding details  

  1. Please fill in all the details clearly and accurately and submit the application form.  

  1. Once submitted, you are given an application reference number, which will help you track your application status.  

  1. After approval, your name will be added to the beneficiary list, and you will be eligible to get the benefits under the PM Kisan scheme.

Since the PM Kisan Scheme is for landholding farmers, applicants have to carefully upload accurate and complete documents to get approved for the scheme.

PM Kisan Scheme – Exclusions – Who are not eligible for this scheme?  

The PM Kisan scheme ensures that the benefits reach only the deserving farmers. In lieu of this, the following category of farmers and their immediate family members are excluded from the scheme benefits –  

  1. Institutional land holders  

  2. Former and current holders of constitutional posts   

  3. Retired and current employees of central or state government, ministries, departments or offices  

  4. Retired pensioners drawing a monthly pension of Rs.10,000 or more  

  5. Individuals who have paid income tax in the last assessment year.  

  6. Individuals practicing professions like doctors, CAs, engineers, lawyers, architects, etc., registered under a professional body and actively practicing.  

PM Kisan e-KYC Process  

The PM Kisan scheme requires the beneficiary farmers to complete their e-KYC to receive the benefits in their bank accounts.  

This e-KYC is Aadhaar based, and the farmers can do it on the PM Kisan portal.  

  1. On the PM Kisan portal, you will find the ‘e-KYC’ option at the bottom of the page. Click on this.  

  2. Enter your Aadhaar number and complete the OTP verification through your mobile number.   

  3. This completes the e-KYC process, and you can be assured of receiving your PM Kisan benefit to your bank account.
