India Post Payments Bank, or shortly called the IPPB, was launched in 2018, under the aegis of Department of Posts, and has since grown to serve 9 crore customers across the country. IPPB allows convenient banking from the comfort of your home. Its Doorstep Banking (DSB) allows various banking services like opening an account, depositing or withdrawing money, making transfers, paying bills, linking Aadhaar, and many more services. You can also request for all these services through a call to the customer service or contacting your local Postman or Gramin Dak Sevak. IPPB has a large network of branches and services across towns, villages, or cities, and serves one and all. Also, there are no extra charges for opening an account or availing Doorstep Banking services. 

IPPB Customer ID  

A Customer ID or CIF is generated when you open a savings account on IPPB. IPPB offers doorstep service to open a savings account. You can choose from Basic Savings Account, Regular Savings Account, or a Premium Savings Account. These accounts can be opened at the bank’s designated access points or you can request for doorstep account opening service.  

Once the account is opened, you are given an account number & Customer ID (CIF). It is a simple 10-digit number. You can make a note of it in a safe place. In case you forget your Customer ID, here are a few ways to retrieve it.

5 Different Ways to Retrieve Your IPPB Customer ID  

1. Through the IPPB QR Card  

At the time of account opening, you are given a QR Card which has a QR code and a few other instructions on operating your IPPB digital account.  

Scanning this QR code will give complete details of your account, including your account number and Customer ID.  

2. Through IPPB Mobile Banking App  

IPPB mobile banking app is available on Google Playstore for download. Once you open the account, you can download this app and register your account.  

On this app, under the My Profile section, you can see all your account details like account number and Customer ID.  

3. Through IPPB Phone Banking 

IPPB Phone Banking facility offers various banking related functions. Account information is also one of them. You can call the phone banking number at 155299 and by a combination of IVRS and agent assisted services, you can find out your Customer ID.  

4. At any of the IPPB Access Points 

Most post offices serve as IPPB access points, apart from dedicated access points for the ease of customers. You can walk in to any one of these access points and find out your Customer ID by verifying your account details.  

5. From your Monthly Account Statement 

IPPD customers are sent the account statement on a monthly basis. It is sent either by regular mail or email, as per your preference. This statement will contain all your account information, including your Customer ID.  

6. From your IPPB Account Passbook 

At the time of account opening, you would have received a passbook with all your account information. All this information will be available on the front page of the passbook. You can find the Customer ID there.
