In case your registered mobile number is no longer in use, or you wish to update your number simply because you want to, you can visit an Aadhar Enrolment Center offline.
Earlier, there were options where you could change/ update your mobile number online. However, the online option is no longer available, and one is required to visit the offline center.
How to update your registered mobile number in your Aadhar Card offline?
God forbid, you lose your phone, or something happens to your registered mobile number and now you have to update your mobile number linked with your Aadhar Card, the first step you will need to do is get it updated on the official UIDAI website.Please follow the steps mentioned below.
Step 1: Go to the nearest Aadhar Enrolment Centre.
Step 2: Ask for an Aadhar update/ correction form and fill it out. Now do not miss out on mentioning the correct/ updated mobile number.
Step 3: Please do not take the form home and submit it to the concerned official.
Step 4: Verify your details after issuing your biometrics.
Step 5: Say thank you and pay a service fee of Rs 50.
Step 6: Take home the Update Request Number (URN) slip that was given as the acknowledgment. You can verify the status of the update using the URN number.
Step 7: Your mobile number should be updated in 30 days.
Note: You need not carry any additional documents to change/ update your mobile number.
How to check the status of linking your mobile number with your Aadhar Card?
Post completion and submission of your Aadhar correction form, you can verify the status online.
Step 1: Visit the official UIDAI portal and click on 'Check Aadhar’ status.
Step 2: Type the Update Request Number (URN) that was handed out after filling out the Aadhar correction form.
Step 3: Enter the CAPTCHA and now you can view the status of your request.
